Location

Kraków is one of the largest cities in Poland, known for its historic architecture and culture. UNESCO has designated the old town area of Krakow a World Heritage site.

There are two airports near Kraków:

  • Kraków John Paul II International Airport (KRK), in Balice is about 15 km outside the city centre and roughly 20 minutes by train. This is the airport that is closest to the meeting venue.
  • Katowice Airport (KTW) in Pyrzowice is roughly 100 km away.

Bus to city centre

From the airport, you can take the bus.
Daytime: Bus lines 208 and 252 connect the airport with the city centre.
Night time: Bus 902 runs all night long to and from the airport to the centre. The buses depart every 20 to 60 minutes (depending on the time of day).
The day trips take around 50 minutes and the night around 30 minutes to the city centre.

To Metropolo Krakow by Golden Tulip

By bus/tram: From the airport to the hotel, take bus 208 or train from Krakow Airport to Krakow Główny station. Transfer to tram 18 or 52 to “Biprostal” stop near the hotel.

By Train/tram: From the station to Metropolo Kakow by Golden Tulip Hotel
Exit at “Dworzec Główny” or “Galeria Krakowska.” Walk (15-20 mins) or take tram 18/52 to “Biprostal” stop, near the hotel. Confirm schedules for accuracy.

By taxi: The taxi rank is outside the airport Arrivals hall. It is recommended to use official taxis with a visible meter and licence. Taxis are relatively inexpensive in Kraków and are the easiest and way to move around the city. A taxi ride from the airport to the city centre costs around 22€ (90PLN).

You can also use Uber from Krakow Airport. The fare is slightly cheaper than a standard taxi’s. A train ride takes around 25–35 minutes, depending on traffic. Taxis usually accept credit card payment, but it’s best to check with the driver before you get in. If you can’t speak Polish, have your address written down ready to show the driver.

  • Take Kapitana Mieczysława Medweckiego to A4 in Kraków (6 min, 1.8 km)
  • Follow A4 to Zakopianka/Zakopiańska. Take the exit toward Kraków/Centrum from A4 (9 min, 14.3 km)
