Pawel Foremski is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics, Polish Academy of Sciences (see iitis.pl/en), and Senior Research Scientist at DomainTools, LLC (see domaintools.com). He is a passionate software engineer, data scientist, and academic researcher, working on improving the performance and security of the global Internet. His areas of interest include ML, BGP, DNS, IPv6, TLS, DDoS, and Flowspec.
Pawel has over 20 years of experience in open-source R&D on computer networks and Internet infrastructure, including C and Golang engineering of distributed systems. He holds a PhD in IP traffic classification using machine learning. Pawel has published papers in top journals and conferences, inventing US patents (eg. Entropy/IP), and has presented at ACM IMC, IETF, RIPE, PLNOG and others.
